I opened it in VLC... but apparently the microsoft play store version of VLC sucks??
So I'm downloading VLC from online.
And before you get all lecturey, know you didn't specify what version of VLC to use lol

we may have to erase this thread when i'm done with the troubleshooting and then i can repost it all on tumblr proper and just link the tumblr post because this is kind of uhhhh... if anyone asks we all own these dvds as physical copies and i'm just preserving it for all of us which all own physical copies because that is very legal.
Edit: also this was my bad sorry for some reason i didn't think to proof the files because i ripped them the same way as 3 and 4 and they worked fine but NO. DO NOT DO THAT. WINDOWS VISTA CAN SMELL YOUR OVER-CONFIDENCE.
Edit 2: For some reason, disc 1 was corrupted in a weird way, and then disc 2.... thought it was a whole-ass dvd and mounted in my [NON EXISTENT] DVD drive and then my computer was like "uuuuuuuuhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh" so despite the files being there, they were unusable!
I don't know whats happening!! hahahaha.a....a...... ;-;??????????

Sorry i've been sick lately (went to the dentist and had my teeth messed with) and for some reason last night at 4am i kind of went into a weird feral lapse and tore apart my entire room and reorganized EVERYTHING I OWN but i left some junk on my desk and i'm gonna clear off my desk and re-rip disks 1&2 bc im a stupid little man. lskjdflkdsjflghldfjhlfgh

Uhhh i wanted to rip these all as the same file type but i'm going to try and Rip disc 2 as something different to see if that works sorry if it's inconvenient at all, i'm working on tracking down better quality dvds but these are literally nearly 20yrs old (owch!!!) and Disc rot has set in. ORZ |

(dead thread bump update: this ones just gonna be about the dvds now, and, if i can't figure out how to rip these to be functional for everyone, then, like, i will legitimately just screen record the eps in the 11min parts they come in and host those in downloadable .zip or something, i don't know, sorry, i'm doing my best, i think it's just the state of the quality of the DVDs honestly because i ripped something more recent and it was totally fine. i'm going to make individual archive threads about different things so nothing gets lost in this thread. and it's more easily searchable.)
