i feel like over time ive made Spak less of a "good guy" character? you can really feel my previous interests bleeding through when i first wrote her... she's much less "like that" now. not that anythings fundamentally changed, she's a still a defective who unwillingly became tallest because literally no-one else was tall enough, all thats really different is the story/characterization? her actual role as a "leader" is just doing as much as she can to manipulate the system so she can (figuratively) sleep at night, while knowing she doesnt really make the IMPORTANT decisions. she's better than A LOT of Irkens, but at the end of the day she still has a PAK
she still tries to flee when she's first Tallest but eventually becomes resigned to her fate... (atleast, in my main storyline for her... ihave two xD)

since Spak was alive before any of the Tallests we know about, my reasoning for her being kept alive despite being defective (and known as such sense smeet-hood) is that there was a population shortage at the time (maybe the tubes just stopped working IDK lol) and they couldnt afford to lose someone who could be useful

since Spak was alive before any of the Tallests we know about, my reasoning for her being kept alive despite being defective (and known as such sense smeet-hood) is that there was a population shortage at the time (maybe the tubes just stopped working IDK lol) and they couldnt afford to lose someone who could be useful Betelgeuse managed to escape being destroyed because he was seen as a useful test subject, so there being a shortage of smeets resulting in a few loose ends makes a lot of sense and could excuse multiple ocs lol |

im going to copy the bios of my IZ OCs i wrote for artfight bc y not " Age:? (adult) gender:? orientation:? pronouns: she/they NAME IS A PLACEHOLDER. close with Val (can be romantic or not depending on my mood) and [TO BE NAMED] she's a former food service drone, she's generally pretty happy and lighthearted and doesn't worry much about anything, but that's because SHE'S FINALLY LEFT HER SHIT JOB. she has trouble dealing with any kind of problem and drowns herself in distractions if anything arises which is generally how she keeps her casual demeanor. she admires Zim for standing up to the Tallest and demanding what he wants and his whole uh, destroying Irk constantly thing, even though Zim would've HATED that. she lives with Val and [THIRD UN-NAMED CHARACTER] in the same ship. even though she was a food service drone, she previously was a soldier and DOES have combat training. Val is a former factory worker who stopped working for the Irken Empire after she lost her leg due to malfunctioning machinery and couldn't afford a proper prosthetic. she's a very jaded person with a short temper and has little tolerance for other people's shit, but cares for her friends more than she would like to admit (even though they annoy the shit out of her). she isn't always inherently hostile, but easily comes off that way. she can resort to violence when things don't go her way. she speaks in ways that can seem "odd" to others.
Val was a machine operator/troubleshooter and nothing else, but has taught herself some basic combat skills.

as you'll notice i have no idea how to classify the genders of my Irkens... they obviously don't care about the human concepts of binary gender and as their sexes have zero bearing on their physical presence who knows
