- irkens have likely got a completely different numbering system to humans. probably a base-6 number system. i don’t have the mental capacity to go into it, but the regular numbers we use are in base-10 (0-9, after that we start combining those numbers) and i believe one theory on how that came about is because humans have ten fingers, which we can count on. that’s why it goes up in tens, basically. so according to that logic, irkens probably have a completely different numbering system since they have 6 fingers in total. i’m not smart enough to actually come up w a numbering system but. whatever. honestly this is the theory i’m least confident in bc it probably makes to sense. not because it’s confusing, but because i can’t explain stuff good.
- irken skin is probably rough, kind of like a crocodile. like. my thought process was “lol battle alien would have tough skin for protection!!” but idk if that would be true since the way the irken empire behaves is more akin to human dictatorship than carnivore or predator in nature. but i really like the idea so i’m sticking with it idc
- i dont like eye science so i’m probably wrong on this, but i have a good feeling that zim would probably be at least colourblind if he turned into a human somehow. the way his eye functions and takes in light is probably completely different so his brain won’t be able to ajust to a completely new genetic code. idk how this stuff works honestly i just like the idea.
- honestly i see a lot of human!zim fanart and a few fics and i always think to myself. holy shit he’d really need to make a lot of adjustments if he lived in a human body. like on a biological and psychological level. zim would be so used to having three fingers on each hand and now he has five of them!!! and more organs!!! what!!! i’d love to write a fic abt this if i ever get the energy to bc it’s such an interesting topic to me. like it has so many factors to it. would the transition from being an alien to a human be less painful/stressful if it was slow or fast? then again, it would probably be easier to adjust if the process was slow. how would his body react to the sudden changes in genetic material? would he still need his pak? call me weird but i love thinking about the more science-y aspects of invader zim in general and how they might work (even though i’m barely passing any of my sciences). it’s such an interesting topic to me. i really want to think about this more but it’s almost midnight and my brain is fried as it always is.
i know i’m reading far too much into like most of this and i’m likely completely wrong but i really enjoy thinking about it. idk. i’ll probably post more stuff in this thread when i get a new big brained idea but rn my mind is blank. if u have any other ideas lmk ^-^
