Just a thought i had bouncing around like a rouge bouncyball someone kicked down a flight of stairs:
What could some Irken (and non irken) Currencies be like? like we have "monies" which i suspect the coins the Tallest (with Red's profile) put in Gir are a classification of. but i was wondering what some others could be?
In an RP ( / backstory building simulator, lol) Squish and i have going, we've agreed that Fundip (or equivalency Zim is seen eating in the show, which in the show guide says is "lik m aide" (WHICH IS ANOTHER NAME FOR FUNDIP) so yeah..... i don't know what it is, but the show bible says fundip-like so i'm just going with fundip) is a currency because one of our characters (her name is Tama, not really relevant though) is obsessed with fundip and will accept it as if it were a currency, which other irkens might have started doing due to not having monies but wanting to trade items with other irkens. which means fundip needs a value chart, not to worry, i did this in middle school, so i have such examples:
FUNDIP (loose and fast) VALUE GUIDE:
(If one pack of fundip is worth $1 USD, the equivalent value should be met, assuming 1 Monies is $1 USD, meet this guide accordingly!)
(the value of fundip is determined by the monetary value of the item wishing to be traded for, if the owner does not accept the trade the fundip has NO VALUE)
1 fundip = 1 Monies HOWEVER can have a lesser personal value if it's not a desired flavor. (cherry sucks, i only accept magic blue/green!!)
so if 1 rare pokemon card is worth $5 USD the MINIMUM fundip requirement should be 5 packs of (preferably) the favorite flavor of the person you are trading to, undesired flavors have HALF VALUE in this case but retain full value if the person ou are trading with "doesn't care"
if the value of the item is unknown / worth more than fundip / the person doesnt really want the fundip but will accept your trade, you must NEGOTIATE A FAIR FUNDIP VALUE for the trade.
POKEMON CARD (loose and fast) VALUE GUIDE
so if a pack of cards is $5 USD the value of said pack of cards unopened is worth at least 5 fundips right? WRONG, pokemon cards are inherently more valuable especially sealed, however you can easily get scammed if you don't agree to this deal in person to examine the card pack.
1 common card is worth roughly $.50 USD!!! these have a lesser value than fundips! but can still be traded for a fundip that neither of you are particularly interested in. if you both agree to this trade of course.
i once had 6 PACKS OF FUNDIPS traded to me for a Rare pokemon card (was not even holo, it was a normal rare) therefor i have decided that fundip value for pokemon cards should be scaled accordingly to the cards value and agreed upon by both parties, i have MULTIPLES of this card so i agreed to this trade, but honestly i think i could have gotten more, and this is where this comes in:
YU-GI-OH CARDS (loose and fast) VALUE GUIDE
you would think this would be the same as pokemon cards right? WRONG, while pokemon cards were not banned from my school, yugioh cards were HARD BANNED for "satanic imagery" so a single good condition yugioh holo could net you a FORTUNE at lunch time. ESPECIALLY if it was an actual rare card. i don't have an actual guide for these because i only had some low value trades in this department but i will list my HOLY GRAIL trade that leads me to believe that these things are worth A METRIC FUCKTON in middle school society
I once found a loophole to the "yugioh cards are banned" rule, this was in the form of an obnoxious limited edition Yugioh binder, that was FOR YOUR CARDS (in sleeves) but i used it for school work, this binder had 3 slots in the front you could put any cards in, i put the GOD CARDS that came with it in those windows, i became a glistening beacon of sin for this. the binder itself was actually a trade item for an anime girl drawing that a chubby nerd boy asked me to draw for him. wonder where he is! wonder if he even remembers that!
after denying MANY, MANY trade offers for this card binder, someone finally gave me an offer i couldn't refuse, which startled me a bit, because i was a big retro game nerd at the time and didn't tell anyone but my foster sister knew, and my foster sister was a popular girl, so apparently she had told someone WHO ASKED HER WHAT I LIKED TO GET THIS CARD BINDER FROM ME, THAT I LIKED OLD GAMES AND POKEMON. and boy, did the girl that wanted that card binder deliver...
the trade in question: 1 copy of pokemon gold, 1 copy of pokemon silver, 3 boxes each containing 22 packs of fundip, 2 monster energies, $10 and Mario kart DS.
instantly accepted with a "no take backs" warning beforehand. she agreed, i had witnesses agree to testify. never needed them. it was a solid trade. and i still play this copy of gold till this day (Silver was traded off for something else, can't recall)
this also brings into the question: are gameboy games a currency? are monster energies they sure are. and they're the most valuable things on this list. (some other currencies are sillybandz and such, a pair of heelys was once bartered off for like, an insane amount of stuff...)
everything can be a currency apparently. so, give me your thoughts and ideas on this please? it's the most bonkers thing ever i know. but i feel like irkens would have some middle-school like currency shit going on for banned items / contraband tbh???
