That reminds me, where do Irkens get all that fabric and pink dye? synthetic thread babey! also the pink dye... thats a secret :) Well, it can’t be blood unless there’s some kind of fixing agent to prevent it from running when the fabric is washed. Natural fabrics are probably a luxury good and a treat, and I think silk would be the most popular natural fabric.

Irkens either love or hate backless dresses and shirts. Either way, they’re super risqué and daring. Another controversial fashion item is thigh-high socks (especially sheer or striped) and short skirts. Thigh-high and knee-high socks and stockings are popular with Navigators as they’re the only Irkens whose uniforms include bare legs.

What do you think Irkens think about wearing furs? The trend was probably introduced by Invaders stationed on fur-wearing planets and quickly picked up by fashionable Irkens, but it’s also associated with Irkens gone native and “primitive” species.
Also, Irkens would go absolutely nuts for plaid, paisley, and gingham fabrics, or any patterned fabric in general, really. They’re so intricate and the patterns are unlike anything seen on Irk. Modern damask fabrics often have designs woven into them using a computer, so imagine the mechanical precision and level of detail Irken weaving robots must be able to pull off.
I also think ship, gun, Control Brain, and Irken insignia motifs and Irken skylines are common in clothing.

The Irkens have already hunted space beavers to extinction (to create an artificial scarcity, of course)! The Slaughtering Rat People must have really terrible fur if the Irkens just Organic Sweeped ‘em instead of setting up a fur farm planet. I love the idea of Irkens dressing like supervillains.

Oh I love the idea of a handmade cottage industry. Imagine Irkens wearing beautiful homemade clothing on their breaks or for company office parties, or just to go hang out with their friends. There are probably wire motifs the same way earthen clothes have animal and plant motifs. Imagine Irkens carrying tiny hand looms (that also have a built-in switchblade, because why not) and string in their PAKS. They could also use their PAK legs as a frame loom to weave stuff on. That reminds me, where do Irkens get all that fabric and pink dye? the dye's from all the crushed smeets of course! (i have nothing worthwhile to contribute to this thread, but i enjoyed reading it)

Some poor textile worker: “Why is the dye...crunchy? the dyes got bone in it bro There’s probably tons of preservatives in it to prevent the dye from decaying too. Hope you like formaldehyde! If Dib ever came to Irk, he’d find that Irken clothes are incredibly haunted and give off a malevolent energy. Occasionally the grinder doesn’t do its job properly and you’ll see half a face or a leg floating in the dye. Sweet dreams!

There are probably urban legends of a gang of textile workers who will string Irkens upside down and slit their throats or gut them like a fish to collect their blood in a vat. Smeets are often threatened with being turned into dye if they don’t behave. How much do you wanna bet the still-cooling bodies of adult defectives are used for dye too?

Imagine spiderweb-like antennae jewelry strung like a web between the antennae. I could talk about antennae jewelry all day.
Also, Irkens wearing mink scarfs, but they’re made of baby aliens.

Irkens with blackened or metal-plated teeth. Alternatively, invaders wearing charivari pendants with the teeth of species they’ve conquered.

Ripped/slashed shirts and skirts are banned. Not only is it unprofessional, but you can hide even fancier clothes underneath it and allow it to poke through. That won’t stop people who want the “scavenger”, “glamorous”, or “glamorous scavenger” look, though.
