Getting back to this, I don't think Irkens should have eyelashes, and shouldn't be able to wear mascara because of it. If Irkens do wear eye makeup, they probably use lots of eyeshadow and eyeliner. I also don't think they have full enough lips to wear lipstick, although it won't stop some of them from trying. realistically they most def wouldn't have eyelashes but I love drawing eyelashes.... they're nice :) |

I feel people don't really understand how much the Irken people like and enjoy the direction their society is going. Yeah, if you get thrown out their airlock, turned into a table drone, or sucked into a Florpus Hole it sucks for you, but look at all this food and territory we have and how much our Invaders, Armada, and Tallest are currently kicking butt and taking names! Life is pretty good right now for most Irkens.
Sustainability? What's that? Let's just keep the good times rolling (and keep steamrolling the rest of the galaxy).

They do have them in canon, and they're neat and pretty! I just wish they were present on both male and female Irkens (along with curled antennae). |

not really a gripe but i like characterizing the earth in iz as being waaaayyy different than real life earth or some kind of fucked up alternate timeline. my favorite of my interpretations is the one where the USA dissolved into separate states and the soviet union is still going strong. really funny and i wish more people would stop like. treating it like its 1:1 real life earth but zim is there

ALSO ppl who hc the empire as it is being tens of thousands of years old. kind of confuse me? bc the empire as is definitely isnt sustainable for more than a few hundred years, and a LOT can happen within just 10 of them. i like to think that irkens werent a spacefaring race until like 800-900 years ago and a majority of their advancements were insanely quick bc they had a supercomputer organizing their shit and they were also stealing ideas from everyone else

Most Empires aren't, not without major changes along the way, anyway. I predict losing its leaders and most of the military in the Florpus may be what finally knocks down the house of cards, if not accelerates the process. If not that, I predict the Irkens will pull a Hadrian's Wall or Byzantine Empire and decide "the empire will not get any bigger than this" and then go into a painful, slow, decline from there. I also could picture them doing a Roman Empire or ant supercolony and splitting (perhaps into thirds because of three control brains). |
