THIS IS IT THIS IS THE HLVRAIZ THREAD...........I know this forum is for IZ but I only made this au for HLVRAI because I like IZ lore so much I wanted to mess around with it. I don't think you really have to know HLVRAI to enjoy these images I've made? I will try to explain what's happening so you can, at least!! SO anyways heres my boys. ignore this Benrey (blue themed irken) at the top here his design changes drastically almost immediately  Okay so this WHOLE THING takes place SHORTLY after Miyuki's death. The alliance between the Irkens and the Vortians is shakier than ever under Red and Purple and it's pretty obvious it's just a matter of time before the whole thing falls apart. Both the Irkens and the Vortians are just kind of letting the joint disaster of a dysfunctional bureaucratic machine they've built together slowly collapse under its own weight while they redirect their attention towards their own armies for the impending crisis. ENTER: BLACK MESA. The LAST remaining cooperative Irken and Vortian scientific facility. It orbits an Irken planet, and so the Irken scientists outnumber the Vortian scientists. Gordon (the Vortian in orange) was just transferred there from the SECOND-to-last joint Irken and Vortian scientific facility. He was hired at his previous job relatively recently, when all of the Irkens had pretty much already pulled out (the facility was in Vortian space), so Gordon has had VERY little contact with Irkens in his life. Being transferred to Black Mesa, which is not only mostly populated by Irkens but is built with specifically their interests in mind, is just culture shock after culture shock for this poor guy. Tommy, Bubby, and Coomer are fellow scientists that Gordon meets almost immediately, and Benrey is a guard posted there that won't leave Gordon alone. All of the Irkens are weird even for IRKENS, but ESPECIALLY Benrey. Here's some better images of Benrey.  |

Uhh I guess chronologically of the tiny handful of drawings I have, next up is Gordon's son?  fksljdkjfahsldgljasdfg  taps the picture. He's not a very complicated character he's just an obnoxious little computer boy who Gordon tolerates very much <2 He's not in Black Mesa with them but the Irken Authorities get ahold of him a little later. But he's fine don't worry |

so next, as per the plot of the game Half Life, there is a HORRIBLE INCIDENT during an experiment with an extradimensional portal that the Irkens have been researching there for some time, and it happens while Gordon is pushing the funny little cart with the evil space crystals on it. So, in the eyes of the Empire and every Irken who saw him, which is to say Tommy, Bubby, Coomer, and Benrey. Benrey was actually IN the room with Gordon during the experiment, inexplicably and against all common sense. Gordon was wearing a protective suit (the orange thing) but Benrey was in just a normal guard uniform and ABSOLUTELY should have died. I'm sure this will not come up again later. Anyways Gordon finds the other scientists again :-)  Bubby here is extremely short but is still very certain that he's smarter than everyone else. Love him. |

SO. Basically Gordon and his new best friends go on a horrible rampage through the already half-destroyed facilities. Why are they already half-destroyed you ask? EXTRADIMENSIONAL MONSTERS! I forgot to draw any in ANY of these images but. You can look at the Half-Life wiki if you really really wanna know I guess kfjslkdfsg. Basically these super killing machines from a pocket dimension are just obliterating everyone. Headcrabs would be fucked up cause theyd have to go after the Vortians first and then use those Vort headcrab zombies to knock off the Irkens' PAKs....fucked up...anyways. The Irkens are all just in Kill Mode and can't really be reasoned with even as they mow down their fellow Irkens. Gordon is fucking mortified.     Oh also Black Mesa is funded by Filthy Space Wikipedia Money don't worry about that |

Eventually they almost get to the surface of the mostly underground facility (as Irkens are wont to build). They run into some Irken soldiers who some of the other Irken scientists have been CLAIMING were sent to save everyone..................and those Irken soldiers immediately try to kill them. Everyone in the group is very murderous by this point so their fine but the Irkens all have to cope with the fact that being attacked by their own military can only mean ONE THING...   They then decide to destroy every single member of the Irken Military <3 Friendship Wins |

MORE crazy shit happens as they are now fighting their way through the Entire Irken Military to escape this hellhole. They run into a few other scientists occasionally, and one of them informs the group that Gordon's protective suit is CHOCK FULL OF MILITARY TRACKING DEVICES! He's been the reason the Military has been crawling all over them this whole time...smh The team sort of falls into a rhythm, but Bubby and Benrey eventually start acting...weird. They seem fed up with Gordon for some reason, in their own weird ways. Then one time when Gordon enters a routine suspiciously empty room, HE'S JUMPED! They sold him out to the Irken soldiers!!! Gordon gets the shit beaten out of him  Gordon comes to who knows how long later, in a trash compactor, thankfully alive but missing an arm. His SHOOTING arm, no less. He crawls his way back into the facility and finds Tommy, who tells him he never wanted any of this. The others apparently bribed Tommy with a beyblade to keep quiet, though. Huh. Gordon and Tommy start navigating the filthy sewers of the facility trying to find the others to figure out what happened and maybe get revenge but also hopefully not get attacked some more? No such luck. They stumble upon an Ambush arranged by Dr. Coomer-- who, as has become increasingly apparent at this point, is some kind of android rather than a genuine Irken, with thousands of exact duplicates of himself populating the facility. At one point Coomer seemed unable to process anything outside of Black Mesa as real, which was very distressing. He and his hims attack Gordon and Tommy    (gordon has one of those transparent helmets like zim puts on in Planet Jackers) So, yeah Coomer's goal here is to attach his PAK to Gordon's body, but Tommy is able to defeat all the clones and he fails and agrees to rejoin the team. Gordon is weary of him but he's also a great asset so the gang trudges onward. |

NEXT they find BUBBY! who, in a SICK AND TWISTED JOKE by the military, has been put back in a hatching tube.  He explains his situation and bribes Gordon five moneys to let him out. Bubby also rejoins the Science Team. |

Eventually they find Benrey as well, who rejoins the team against Gordon's will because Gordon is too delirious to do anything about it. Their next destination is the Cybernetics Department, to replace Gordon's arm. Coomer, who is 100% cybernetic enhancements, is leading the way! When they get their, though, they find.........!!!!  DARNOLD!!!!!!! Another Vortian who's survived! It turns out the Irkens discontinued the Cybernetics department in favor of a Mixology Department. Darnold is still able to help, however, because he has a potion that can restore Gordon's arm. With a gun. That shoots fingernails. |

I forget when exactly these two guys first appear so here they are now. Firstly Forzen  He's a member of the Irken Military who is especially persistent in annoying the team and should honestly be dead several times over already, but isn't. He won't shut up about Irken Internet Gamers for some reason. Later on he Kidnaps Sunkist the perfect Robot and holds him hostage, which ultimately does nothing because Sunkist cannot be destroyed. Love this guy. |

Secondly G-MAN MY MAIN MAN G-MAN  This really ominous guy shows up out of nowhere and all the Irkens in the vicinity just stop moving for some reason? Gordon doesn't get it. He says ominous things. The second time he shows up, though, Benrey happens to be there, and he........doesn't quite respond the same as the other Irkens.    Benrey. Has no PAK.  But anyways since I'm almost out of art, Tommy is also specifically a creation of G-Man somehow and G-Man refers to him as his son yeah it's weird for Irkens and I wasn't able to fully adapt that but don't worry about it. Maybe G-brain is just calling him that cause he thinks it will make more since to Gordon who has a son.. |

WAHOOO BIG TWIST LETS GO!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! BENREY IS NOT IRKEN  The gang all gets to the fucked up pocket dimension eventually because something over there is causing interference that's keepign anyone from closing the portals to the darn place. And it turns out it's Benrey. And it turns out Benrey is the thing that killed Tallest Miyuki? Fucked up. He's the big bad and they have a climactic showdown MAN now I wish I had a chuck e cheese party drawing of the hlvraiz cast. I am too tired but I gotta do that sometime. Important closure <3 |
