This one is going to be used to write out and compile tropes that are seen commonly in IZOCs (they don’t necessarily have to be yours). Nothing is cringe here, this is just for my quiz and data-gathering purposes. Feel free to add your own for data-gathering purposes.
I’ll start:
Elite
Advisor
Invader
If Invader, has romantic or familial relationship with individual of species they were supposed to conquer
Service drone (usually hen-pecked by employers or customers)
Service Drone for a non-canon Irken industry
Armchair war criminal
Internet war criminal
Trans and/or nonbinary
Neurodivergent
Defectivity=Neurodivergent
Does things 4 tha EVULZ!
Scientist (often evil)
Experiment (usually feral)

one design trope i see a lot with irken ocs is that theyre all twinks or have a skinny body type...

also a thing i see a lot is that every iz oc has to be an alien (often of a canon-established species) i NEVER see human or human-adjacent ocs unless theyre a self insert

ok im gonna add a few more iz oc fantropes as a list now. also fyi i do some of these too
some irken oc tropes:
- hates the empire or is secretly working against it despite being a high rank
- if theyre tall theyre a twink like red and purple
- if theyre a tallest they have a color name
- smarter and more competent than the average iz universe character
- has a 3 letter name
- has a high stakes backstory with lots of lore
- on the run or hiding from the empire
- is or was or will be tallest
some human oc tropes:
- knows about zim or is aware of the existence of aliens and the supernatural
- has magic powers
- is a teenager or in their early 20s
- goes to skool with zim and dib
- isnt supposed to be a self insert but it is if you squint
- is an oc from another fandom adapted for iz
- is shipped with a human canon character
and some non-irken alien tropes
- is a vortian or canon alien species
- is a hybrid of an alien species and an irken
- or a hybrid of an alien species and a human
- is a species from another ip (eg crystal gem, vulcan, etc) but is used primarily in iz rp and nothing else
- is a test subject or science experiment
- if a hybrid, made specifically as a science experiment
- or if a hybrid, is a secret baby between an irken and an alien that are in love
- is a cryptid or other pop culture creature (but comes from another planet)

It wouldn't be an IZOC trope writeup if there wasn't a trope of acting LOL RANDOM XD as an act. Basically the IZ version of "Crouching Moron, Hidden Badass". That reminds me Scene=Goth=LOL XD RANDOM or Scene=Goth=Serial Killer. And those serial killers always use kitchen knives for some reason. More tropes: - More or less than the usual number of eyes
- Turned into an experiment or gladiator as punishment
- Part of a secret society of Irkens cut off from the rest of Irken society due to the introduction of PAKs (preferably underground)
- If a Vortion, will be a prisoner scientist at the same prison 777 is working at

Your character uses a weapon simply because it's cool. (it is)
Irken clothes are a lot more ornate than in canon.
Irken clothes are made of more cloth than in canon.
Irkens have different body features than in canon (tails, grub scars, fuzz, etc.)
Tailcoat or trenchcoat + body armor

OC was Tallest, but doesn't want to to be, and either attempts to sabotage the Irken Empire from the inside or defects.
