I have a lot of favorite tropes in media that make me stupidly excited to witness. I could go on but I'll try to make this list short and sweet. In no order whatsoever because I have no attention span....

1. Ugly crying. Crying isn't pretty like in Disney movies, it's ugly. You have snot running down your face (ew), your make up is ruined, your whole world is destroyed, you want to break things, you know? Bonus points for the puffy eyes and scrunched up face. *cough* Sailor moon...

2. Tiny reading glasses. They're so so so cute! I've incorporated this accessory into multiple oc designs, including my newest one.

3. When someone wears a hat with their every day clothing. my furry mascot has a black and purple toque she never leaves home without. I squeal with delight and go "friend!!!".

4. This is a big one. When someone is a parent/protective guardian. Either by blood or adoption. My heart absolutely MELTS when someone is holding a bunch of little messy gremlins. Even if they are little terrors, it warms my heart to see. Don't get me started or I will never shut up.

5. When something's adorable at first sight but later on becomes terrifying. Vice versa also makes me giddy. A spooky creature coming out from under your bed to tuck you in and kiss your forehead goodnight.

1. Shawls. I just think shawls are neat.
2. No-holds-barred beatdown. Just absolutely brutal fight scenes in general.
3. Cuddling. Doesn't matter what kind, I love it, especially if it's platonic.
4. Tender and friendly scary-looking entities.
5. Smorgasboards of lovingly-described food.
6. Characters making each other tea as an act of love.
7. One character protecting another by shielding them with their body. Bonus points if they say, "OVER MY DEAD BODY." in a super growly and intimidating voice.
8. Gorgeous Period Dress. Also, fight scenes in fancy clothes.
9. When period pieces remember to include the weird marginalia from the time period and aren't afraid to be historically accurate as possible, even if it's not what the audience was expecting.
10. Gorgeous shots of scenery in the morning with the birds calling.
