Random: i like how in the series (mostly) wearing some clothes of the "opposite gender" just doesnt matter, irkens don't give a flying fuck. the tallests are in what is essentially weird dresses just to flex on how they don't need to be fast or mobile (and fannncccyyy) and listen if you can run a whole military assault in high heels and a dress you're probably badass, no need for gender, just being badass. Fun fact: In one of the comics, it's revealed that future Zim wears high heels and past Zim is only shocked about it because it makes him look taller than he actually is. that interaction was so good bc when you say high heels i know exactly what you mean but no one else would be expecting "high heels" to mean "like 20 inch tall platform heels" LOL |

why are irken tongues like that I'm gonna rub some science all up in this to say that assuming that Irkens were originally nectarivores, which I headcanon based off of them massively consuming sugary foods, so that long, thin tongue of theirs was made for collecting nectar from the inside of flowering plants. Birds and bats have similar looking tongues. |

Lacey/semitransparent gloves are considered "racy" or "scandalous" by Irkens (you're supposed to keep your hands covered at all times unless you're a Tallest). Miyuki had several hundred pair of lace gloves. They're extremely expensive, so only the Tallest and their advisors/lords can wear them. Rebellious Irkens actually have a subculture of wearing fingerless gloves, although they're hardly worn in public.
The Navigator unironically likes the song "Drive" by Incubus.
Defective Irkens are more prone to autoimmune disorders and allergies and take longer to heal, among other conditions.
