(obviously stuffs gonna change when the show was originally made how many years ago? oh my god. IM baby ) edit: if i remember correctly the comics started with a similar premise to the movie (zim being gone for years, ect. doesnt go the same way obviously ) so i generally consider the comics and the movie to be adjacent if not alternate versions of eachother edit 2: i kind of view the different comics the same way the episodes worked in the original: with liberal use of the reset button. it appears to be the same but they just reset whenever (excluding the several issue arcs i guess, like zimvoid. i still dont know what was going on with zimvoid. i know the whole point was all the different timelines collided in one place but O MAI GOD) |

the tv series does have a bit of canonicity on a linear timeline! even with use of "resets" Zim will still remember something Dib did to him a few episodes prior and spitefully mention it on occasion.
Random: my favorite moments are when Zim has the braincell. examples include:
Dib: "WE MEET AGAIN."
Zim: "i just SAW you earlier." (<in a normal tone of voice)
and:
Dib: "But i don't want that!" <being attacked by Zim in a ship
Zim: "oh." -stops- "...too bad." -continues attacking Dib-
Other favorite things are notably: When Zim is literally minding his own business and doing something harmless and Dib like. assaults him for no reason.
Also, we got robbed of an episode where Zim was working in an orphanage willingly, then Dibs like "I KNOW YOU'RE UP TO SOMETHING" and then Zim basically goes "I think i'll cause problems on purpose."
other favorite lost episode tidbit: Zim doesn't know the english alphabet.

Random: Almighty Tallest Red's voice actor did an HH Gregg commercial a few years back and someone on tumblr did storyboards for it (can't find it atm but heres the audio)

random: every day i dream of what miyuki could have sounded like I really hope it's a mix between "Pompus civilized high society royal" and "SASSY MEAN BITCH" because i think she would be violent/selfish for some reason, it's in her notes that she was "obsessed with science and experimenting" and Lard Nar was part of her royal scientists (So was Zim! ! as a smeet! it's how she died!) for some reason i think she would have done unethical experiments on her own kind and other alien species, but up front she might have had a professional façade unlike Red/Purple (her underlings) but i also think for some reason, if you pissed her off, she might have been violent? i don't know, i'm DEFINITELY just making up my own little sandbox theory here. ( *eats the sand* ) Spork was supposed to be a Jock so like...... let me dream LMAO |

I'm a big fan of this one. i've slapped "chirps" on all of my irkens. i think it's something that could potentially be taught to any irken. maybe an irken smeet doesn't get encoded somehow and grows up wild. that irken isn't going to know language. it's gonna be a Chirpy boi |
