anyone else watch unsolved mysteries (the classic one AND the netflix reboot)?
im not an insane true crime person but i think the concept of the program mixing true crime and paranormal stuff is really funny. the whole paranormal craze of the 90s was really interesting in retrospective actually im really glad its making kind of a comeback w/ mothman and stuff

funniest one: Foster sister had her friends over from middle school using my (unbeknownst to them) glow in the dark oujia board. and it was storming badly. i heard them ask "are you here?" and then i killed the breaker. they screamed so loudly the cops came to investigate a "domestic abuse call" >w> Got grounded over that for a while. omfg... |

literal months! at least 3 i think. my room was in the basement and my mom just straight up cut the power to my room past 8pm for like 3 months after that, i had been being mean to my foster sister for a while on a streak (SHE ERASED MY POKEMON PLATINUM SAVE FILE!!! UNFORGIVABLE!!! AND MY ANIMAL CROSSING TOWN!!!! ABSOLUTELY UNFORGIVABLE!!!!) so that was pretty much the last straw. i was banned from electronics and snacks for a very long time until my foster sister became the bad child for doing something. In retrospect this is hilarious because i would just sit in the dark writing fanfiction on an old laptop when she gave me the power back but not the internet (i was still in trouble) and i literally hoarded junk food and sodas in my backpack and then hid them under my bed when i got home??? watching the same inuyasha dvd over and over again??? like what was i doing. lmao....... very weird of me. that sounds.... really weird to do to a kid as a parent, regardless of their actions but lets not unpack all that sometimes when youre a teen all you wanna do is watch inuyasha on repeat tho. speaking from experience i did weird stuff on my computer too, when i was like 8 i used to splice pokemon sprites with my behemoth of a laptop and post them online. id bring that thing everywhere it was as old as i was and the usb slots were all fried so it was basically useless to me in the age of the internet where cloud hosting was unheard of back to the topic of paranormal stuff, i was really into cryptids and "haha funny weird" conspiracies (mostly just making fun of insane people on obscure corners of the internet) back in 2011/2012 when gravity falls came out, but before that i wasnt really allowed to go anywhere near anything that had a paranormal angle bc my mom was super paranoid about that kind of thing... all it really did was make me fear watching literally anything bc a lot of cartoons had ouija board episodes during that time |

back to the topic of paranormal stuff, i was really into cryptids and "haha funny weird" conspiracies (mostly just making fun of insane people on obscure corners of the internet) back in 2011/2012 when gravity falls came out, but before that i wasnt really allowed to go anywhere near anything that had a paranormal angle bc my mom was super paranoid about that kind of thing... all it really did was make me fear watching literally anything bc a lot of cartoons had ouija board episodes during that time i was really into space but then i got really into the occult like way too hard too fast and my family legitimately got scared of me being into the occult??? they were like "No you're supposed to like (assigned gender) stuff like ponies and cute stuff!!" and i was like *horrifying crab scuttle* MOTHMAN REAL ALIENS BUILT THE PYRAMIDS BIGFOOT REAL All of a sudden, at 12. |
