so invader zim has a lot of unfinished episodes and episode ideas... what's your favorite one? least favorite? most "meh"?
mine is a tie between ten minutes to doom and day of da spookies... on the former i like the lore tidbit, on the latter its just funny.
on the hand of episodes im suprisingly neutral about... i honestly dont find the trial that interesting, maybe because its just overhyped. idk. i just think the main conceit of it is overdone in fanon so much at this point that it doesn't really feel that interesting, there wasnt really any memorable character moments (imo) and at the end of the day i think most people just like it because it introduced tallests other than red and purple
the one cancelled episode i think is kind of stupid from start to finish is the pants one... idk it seemed like they just really wanted to do the pants episode after being told they couldnt and the plot they had was just uh... pants

Oh I'm extremely biased toward The Trial bc it was the first unreleased episode I learned about, so it was like super exciting and mysterious getting to read the script and everything! I think I actually convinced my brothers to do a dramatic reading of a couple scenes with me once askldjg. I agree that the defective thing feels overdone cause I see it done a lot in ways where it's so sobby and dramatic that it loops back around to not resonating, but I've ALSO seen it used rlly well one time by my friend which further contributes to my bias. ANYWAYS THAT'S NOT EVEN MY FAVORITE PART. That one flashback where Miyuki visits the lab Zim's working at and there's BOTH Irkens AND Vortians working there?  I have latched onto that harder than any other aspect of the episode. My favorite episode overall was already Backseat Drivers in no small part bc of the offhanded Vort lore and a lot of screentime for the Tallests so MORE Vort lore and MORE Tallest stuff??? HELL yeah. But realistically that's like one scene in a whole episode so it's still probably MOSTLY just personal bias and thirst for lore carrying it lmao I feel like I've read about the pants episode but I genuinely don't remember it??? So that speaks to how much it did not resonate with me at all. I find myself resenting the mopiness of doom tbh. Mostly because I am sick to death of it after having to watch z*drs latch onto it for years. I like Zim and Dib working out their differences/realizing a bit that they're not so different/otherwise being weird incidental quasifriends as much as the next guy but something about Mopiness of Doom doesn't hit right for me??? idk it's been a while and I don't rlly feel like revisiting it bc of my first point. |

im really biased towards the trial of course becasue Miyuki was born from it but 10 minutes to doom and top of the line ( no script for this one and its mostly hear-say i believe but i want to believe Tak was in it and i am incredibly biased towards Tak. im STILL mad she didnt appear in the comics even ONCE). im not really familiar with the scripts beyond the most popular ones cuz i just dont rlly have the patience to read them. i like mopiness of doom and i REFUSE to let freaks ruin it for me. i like day of da spookies too. honestly i wouldve enjoyed watching most of them but like the pants one eludes me its just like. they really held onto that concept for a long time for some reason
simon says doom is funny but mostly for the concept of zim working at an orphanage. honestly i find it hard to judge these by script alone
i don't really blame the scripts for doing stuff that fanon overdid, but it does sap the enjoyment out of it a bit and make it feel less "flavorful" since ive already seen a lot of like... trial imaginings and recreations (i respect everyones opinions tho, opinions r opninons : P ) i don't think it makes it worse per-se but ya. makes it a bit less easy to enjoy

oh, im super fond of ten minutes to doom & mopiness of doom !! genuinely i know its kind of basic and its funny to put these two. like . together but i have an unfortunate softness for zim and dib being nice to each other... and i think ten minutes to doom is really neat to see the effects of the pak and stuff like. that sort of function!
i cant really pick out a specific one thats my least favorite, none specifically come to mind. oh, actually thats not true! roboparents gone wild.. conceptually the sound of it freaks me out a bit much so i couldnt go through the script bc i was nervous LOL
