the series is popular with older scifi fans so thats why i said it

Thinking about Irken linguistics rn How the letter Z doesn’t exist in the Irken subtitles on the DVDs, the fact that they write in all capitals, how certain words are seemingly untranslatable to English… Honestly, the Irken language needs to be explored more. The wiki talking about how it might work makes my brain expand.

I FIND IRKEN LANGUAGE REALLY REALLY INTERESTING and its something i want to expand on but i dont enough about language in general in order to do so

On the topic of Z not existing in Irken, I put that forward as evidence to the theory that Zim is a virus of some kind if I haven't put forward the theory already.
Because why would somebody have a name spelled in a way that doesn't exist in the language? Unless the name was spelled with a Z when translated to more accurately reflect the pronunciation of the name. Maybe the letter S is pronounced differently when following other letters? I've seen the idea that Zim may be written as "Sim" when in Irken before.

While the wiki is inaccurate this one editor raised a really good point: "Vasquez confirmed that only polluted water can harm Zim, this is most likely because realistically, there is also water in Earth's atmosphere and if Zim kept breathing the planet's oxygen, it would only be a matter of time till it killed him."
I remember Jhonen saying in the episode commentary for The Wettening (I think?) that it's the pollutants in the water and the atmosphere would be made up of that polluted water. It's got to be slowly killing him, right?
