irken version of monster energy goths. except when you make a monster energy can gun it actually works and is qualified as a regulated WMD in several sectors of the empire Yesssss. Idea: the Irken equivalent of Monster Energy is named "Cthulhu Energy" after Zim's little...mishap. Very subversive. Slime (my oc Slime, Slime my oc, my beloved oc) Would drink that...

Pockets are either for things your PAK can't hold, or a novelty.

Irkens with bowling alley carpet patterned clothing, especially for the lining of coats and collars.

You know how laptops can have little skins or covers placed on top of them? PAK covers/skins. I’m getting mine in rose gold and galaxy print, personally. You could also cover your PAK in stickers. I'm five steps ahead of you

Irkens dress like early 2000's middle schoolers...because let's be real, that's what they are.
In other news, Irken bubble jackets or 1840's style jackets with huge puffy sleeves (perfect for smuggling!)

Irkens are funny-all the pants or tights we've seen them wearing so far are black-except for the Irken Scouts (my beloveds) who wear pink pants. Get some more variety, you unfashionable space bugs!
Irkens strategically ripping their tights so they can show some skin (scandalous!) or tights/leggings underneath. Also, Irken jorts, but they're just old Irken tights cut really short. They probably also like the anime fashion trend with a ton of belts.

Speaking of anime fashion trends, they also like big pants with a ton of belts, short jackets with tons of pockets, and large goggles.

I'd like to see Irkens wear something like this, either with gloves underneath or ungloved. Bonus points if it's rhinestone-encrusted and horribly tacky.

Do you think corsets + hoverbelts are exclusively the purview of the Tallest...or do you think other Irkens can wear one or both of them too? My personal headcanon is that corsets worn under the clothes (i.e. not visible) are allowed for any high-ranking Irken not doing manual labor, but visible corsets and hoverbelts are exclusively for the Tallest.

Can anyone identify what the red droplet symbol on the side of Sizz's pauldrons is supposed to represent? Hot sauce?

Look at the detail on Sizz's collar. Trimmings and such are probably where a lot of ornate detail gets put for Irken clothing. Also, his gas mask connects to his PAK, which makes sense considering it's a life support device.

I think Irkens should be able to wear sheer and semitransparent fabrics if they like.

I think Irkens should be able to wear sheer and semitransparent fabrics if they like. I think the reason they didn't include semitransparent fabrics in the series was 1. The aesthetic-there are very few elegant things in Invader Zim, and I guarantee Miyuki would have been animated just as jankily (lovingly) as all the other characters in IZ 2. Technology at the time wouldn't have made it feasible.

I think the outfit of some Irken idols is short skirts (usually poofy or tutu-like) and tights. They also like poofy sleeves. Just...poof. Something sparkly that you would never see on a soldier or laborer, too gaudy for an advisor or administrator, but that you can dance in.
