I love all the bumper stickers about how cool Irk and the Tallest are and how they’re the greatest, Rah Rah, Go Team, Blow Stuff. The Irkens are nothing but patriotic, I’ll give them that. It also remind me of the pep rally in Voting of the Doomed, except the Irkens actually believe their own hype. They have no other option. Also, Red and Purple are making it very clear that this is The Tallests’ Ship by slapping as many bumper stickers announcing it as they can on it, despite the fact that the mere fact of it being The Massive announces it for them. Tallest secure in their position wouldn’t feel the need to do this. Somebody is feeling insecure. Also, they’re horribly tacky. Brains bless, boys-I love you but you sure are annoying.

Since they can’t bedazzle their uniforms, they slapped their Tacky Gay Fashion Sense on the outside of their warship instead.

Also, look at all the “Snack Time” and the “FEED” bumper sticker of an Irken (possibly Purple) with an open mouth. The Irken empire really is an empire with a bottomless stomach.

Something I’ve wondered...is evil laughter a cultural trait of Irkens? We see Zim do it, we see Tak do it, we see the Almighty Talkest do it, and we see the several of the invaders laugh, both when watching their planet burn and at the Tallests’ Hobo-13 watch party. I don’t think we see Skoodge do it, nor the service drones. There’s a conclusion that could be drawn there, but I’m not sure what it is.

I can’t believe I didn’t make that conclusion. It might also be culturally-acceptable to show your superiority and blow off some steam at the same time. Has anyone ever felt bad after a good 15 minute evil cackle? No one, that’s who!

Has anyone ever felt bad after a good 15 minute evil cackle? No one, that’s who! Something I’ve noticed-as far as I’m aware, the Tallest have only evil laughed when they were about to blow up the Resisty, and when the Control Brains were about to execute Zim. Maybe because they’re at the top, they don’t feel the need to strut their evil laughter stuff as much as shorter Irkens. The Navigators also don’t evil laugh-ever.

My headcanon for the traditional mode of address for a Control Brain is “Your Braininess”.

Irkens are ingrained with the idea of conquering, so the reaction of boastful laughing at violence is a way of expressing that Irkens are powerful creatures? Like, a cultural thing. It's actually been shown that forcing yourself to laugh helps encourage feeling happier, so maybe Irkens are encouraged to laugh during conquests and victories and it actually makes them feel excited about it?

Yeah!! Irkens absolutely revel in violence, more than most humans. Of course it would all be a fun recreational activity or a big joke to them!

I love the fuckhgging bumper stickers. Judging by how many there are on the outside of the Massive, the Tallest love them too. The Massive is so big it doesn't need to worry about camouflage, so why not slap a bunch of bumper stickers on the outside?

The Irken alphabet doesn't have a letter "Z". There was never going to be a place for Zim. Or his name is just spelled/pronounced "Sim" or "Jim". Or, possibly the funniest explanation, they just removed whatever character makes a "Z" sound from the alphabet after Zim was born.

Zim technically outranks Tak-or he did, before he was demoted to Food Service Drone. He was a full-blown Irken Elite and a Proper Invader. Tak was just an Elite Trainee who didn't even get to take her final exam and couldn't break out of a measly testing pod. I'm surprised Zim didn't pull rank and lord his rank over her...unless he's not completely in denial about his demotion.

Teh Vortian-Irken Alliance directly broke down due to Miyuki's death. In The Trial, the head scientist addresses Miyuki as "My Tallest" and says that she "Honors us with [her] presence." And Miyuki says, "Tell me what my finest minds are dreaming up for the Empire." Lard Nar also salutes her. He also helped produce the prototype for the Irken Armada's flagship, The Massive.
It's kind of ambiguous whether the Vortians are part of the Empire or just its allies, but both Miyuki and the Vortians seem to be at least cordial with each other. And then the blob monster breaks out.
The Irkens probably blamed the Vortians for the death of not one, but two of their Almighty Tallest. Sending Larb to destroy Vort from the inside was an act of revenge as much as conquest. Also, why would they suspect an Irken? Irk and Vort have already had many friendly interactions, if they had a military research alliance.
