Not gonna lie, I really want to make a Found Family AU where Zim gets unofficially adopted by the science crew of Research Station 9. What started this line of thinking was...If Zim's project at VRS9 was the Energy-Absorbing-Thingy, and he shows so many interdisciplinary science skills later in the show and in life...is it possible that other scientists taught him skills outside his original bioengineering discipline?

Just a question... Could this Resisty member be the same person as this VRS9 scientist?

The Irken alphabet doesn't have a letter "Z". There was never going to be a place for Zim. Or his name is just spelled/pronounced "Sim" or "Jim". Or, possibly the funniest explanation, they just removed whatever character makes a "Z" sound from the alphabet after Zim was born. I'm thinking it could be two things: Either it's spelled "Sim" or his name is spelled as "Zim" but the letter also doesn't exist in Irken language. I picked "Sim" over "Jim" because according to Jhonen, the name came from a Tamagotchi that he gave to the girlfriend he was with at the time. Tamagotchis are a simulator. As for the second thing, it could further hint at what an anomaly Zim is. He's like the MissingNo. of Irkens.

Here's something else I realized about why I didn't like the comic where we see Zim in the future. Zim acts like the average guy and it's implying his defective traits is something he grew out of which is very... yikes. Considering that defective paks read as a metaphor for disabilites, or at least for me.

I personally think his name is spelled the same as "Jim", because why else would the Tallest get him mixed up with Invader Jim in ETF?

When Spork died, Red, Purple, and Zim were all Invader/Elite-aged. Specifically in Invader Training.
Purple says: "Zim, you've done nothing but rain horror down onto the EMPIRE since you were BORN...and NOW they're training you to become an INVADER?!"
And Spork says in his first line: " And as your new Tallest, I am proud to say that you INVADERS in training are the future of the EMPIRE!" So it's pretty clear that all of them are Elites in training to become Invaders.
Where am I going with this?
Spork died right after his speech. There were no mentioned Tallest in between Spork and Red and Purple. I think Red and Purple were pulled out of Invader training to become Tallest.

Maybe Purple and Red secretly resent Zim because despite everything he's done, he still got to live out his dream of being an Invader-and they didn't. Also, if you wanna get really sad: I think Red and Purple are afraid of doctors and medical drones. The Control Brains ordered that extreme cosmetic surgery be done on them to make them taller and to make it harder for any other Irken to outgrow and oust them. That was the plan, anyway. What actually happened was that Red and Purple were still growing at the time and the surgery stunted their growth, making them among the shortest and youngest Tallest in history. Oh, and it gave them chronic pain, completely ruining their quality of life and making them even more irritable and impossible to deal with than before! They were also extremely young for a Tallest (most of them are the equivalent of middle-aged), and some of the higher-ranking Irkens asked that the Announcer or Sizz-Lorr be considered instead. But the Brains wouldn't budge. Both Red and Purple secretly resent and fear the Control Brains, even if they don't realize it.

Apparently Olivia d'Abo has a really big laugh IRL, so imagine Tak finding something really, genuinely funny and doing a big ol' hearty laugh. In other news, I love girls with big laughs.
