i think about what kinds of things irkens eat besides snacks because im a freak who loves to think about mundane worldbuilding.... i personally hc that despite irk being a megastructure and having like. nutrient goo as a primary food base. there are "greenhouses" and farms and stuff in their food production facilities (both on and offworld) for ingredients that just dont taste right if its synthesized from soylent green. so there is produce, but its hard to come by
i like to think that irkens are omnivorous with a preference for insects and starches- so tubers, grains/seeds, and gourds are probably the types of staple vegetals. a fungus too, because fungus are special and tasty and i like them

The Massive has a built-in greenhouse and fungus garden, because I think it’s cool. When Irkens do eat meat, they go after small animals and eggs, although historical Irkens with strong stomachs would eat carrion.

When Irkens do eat meat, they go after small animals and eggs, although historical Irkens with strong stomachs would eat carrion. oh i definitely think they have the stomach to eat literal garbage if they want to. raccoons from outer space. since the invention of the pak irkens have been able to stomach more and more outlandish things bc their immune and digestive system have been boosted to literally digest anything. zim is just reacting to the high water content of everything on earth i think a non-snack dish might just be like. grilled bugs or fungus. put a bunch of mushroomce in a bowl with some marrow bones and crunch on that |

Irkens make a lot of bread, specifically the kind covered in powdered sugar and deep fried. Deep-fried oreos are a classic Irken delicacy.
They make alcohol too, mostly sugar beer and mead (a type of alcohol made from honey).

I bet the Irkens drink a lot of that. You can also make a mini moonshine still that can fit in your PAK. |
